Our Children are not our children - They are the Sons and Daughters of the Most High.
They come through us - but not from us......
Here is what God revealed to me regarding children:
They truly live in the land of tomorrow - if we want to make them fit into this world, we belittle them, we belittle, what God wants them to be. He has huge plans for them. Especially the generation that is growing up right now. They are created to stand out - because they truly don't belong here anymore, they belong to Heaven - they belong to Christ resurrected, not Jesus crucified.
Jesus came as the sacrificial Lamb of God - He came to free us from Sin - representing the last Adam, the Son of Man, the last one that was going to be bound by the law. Christ resurrected it Jesus gone to Heaven, and living in freedom from this day forward.
We are called to listen to the snippets of wisdom and truth, that are flowing from their mouths - here is an example:
Just a couple of days ago, my children and I were watching a movie (we tend to do that a lot lately :)) and I was watching and not watching......(mind you, it's a kid's movie) getting sidetracked to update my status on Facebook, like or reply to certain posts of my friends - oh, and please don't get me wrong: I love Faithbook, as I call it now, and there is nothing wrong with being on faithbook, but it should just not take our focus of our children - Jesus has pointed that out to me before - anyway: we were sitting in front of the TV and my Son turned to me and said: Mom, you're not giving us your full attention...... - phew, that hit home.
Just a few weeks ago, we have all three signed a resolution (inspired by the movie 'Fireproof' we did sign a Family resolution), where we promised to respect each other's needs, treat each other kindly, but most of all guard each other's hearts. My special promise to my children was, that I would give them my full and undivided attention at all times, when we're together - again in my own little me, I cannot do that, but I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me - so when my son told me I didn't keep my promise - it stung - I chose to listen and adapt. My cell phone got put away, and I truly watched the movie WITH my children.....and am blessed, with an ever evolving relationship with my wonderful children.
They do detect our failures better than any other - they were sent to us, by the Holy One, to transform us more and more into the likeness of Christ. First by bringing out the worst in us, through their disobedience and rebellion, later by bringing out the best in us, by the truths they speak into our lives.
They are the messengers of Christ to us, once they too have yielded to the Spirit. Mothers and Fathers hear this: they have the gift to hear the Holy Spirit at a much younger age - this is because we have been walking with Jesus, surrendering our lives to God - we gave the children the gift, to recognize Christ - the power of the resurrection, much much faster than us. Now we have to allow them to live in the Spirit and to walk in obedience to Christ.
We are called to listen to these truths and adapt our lifestyles accordingly. We give them our full attention and focus, they then in turn consider our needs and honour us eternally.
Join me on this journey, as were also learning to live in the Spirit at all times - standing tall in Christ and letting Him transform us from Glory to Glory - you will see, we will behold the Glory of God, if we only believe.
Be blessed and enjoy the Journey
