Our Children are not our children - They are the Sons and Daughters of the Most High.
They come through us - but not from us......
As I am going through piles of things that need to be done - bills paid, papers filed, phone calls made, I happen to come across a note my little girl (mind you she's 7 going on 18 - so I really shouldn't call her my little girl anymore, but I guess, no matter how old she will be, she'll always be my little girl...)
Her note reads: Dear Mom, I think that you are awesome. You are the Best. I know what you doing when you are being mean (meaning strict, and sometimes impatient - Lord forgive me for still struggling with impatience.....trusting that the Holy Spirit will continue to work inside of me, to bring forth all the fruit of the Spirit at all times....... - remember friends, we're all a work in progress) - you are trying to help us to become better people - WOW!!! That out of the mouth of a 7 year old.....
They truly know certain things better and faster than we do - yet they're still children - wise souls in little bodies. We are called to guide them not smash them, and break their spirits, like old school teachers would have told us......we ought to listen attentively to the pearls of wisdom they pour forth into this world.
They are the future and they hold the key to Heaven.....more so than we do. As we need to learn to let go of our old restrictive thinking patterns, we need to help them to keep their more open mindedness and view for possibilities.......they are more ready to believe in their dreams than we did. Let's choose to make their dreams soar - help them to reach their potential, by encouraging them. Remember: The Sky is the limit - Heaven is Now, if we choose to see the endless possibilities God put into our hearts to live out His purpose for His beautiful creation.
I pray that God would open our hearts and minds to help our children to embrace their destiny today, not in 20/30 or 40 years. The world needs courageous souls, that have big dreams and are willing to overcome conflict to reach their destiny!!!
